MSCC 2017 Round 7 - Team Red

This is our composition for Round 7.
It is a 1-movement piece in d minor for violin, cello, and piano.
We each contributed some sections and worked together to combine these and integrate them into one piece - but it somehow also grew dynamically from the beginning. So it may not really fit into a classical form.
For me, it was the first collaboration in a composition, and it was very interesting and inspiring. Thanks to my fellow teammates, I think we have made a really lively and interesting piece together.

A fun disney arrangement I made. This shockingly took about 2 years to make because it was an on and off project that I worked through randomly when I was bored. I had a lot more songs like How Far I'll go by Moana and a lot more Star Wars songs, but I eventually condensed it down to my favorites.

1. Under The Sea
2. In Summer
3. Just Can't Wait To Be King
4. I've Got A Dream

You know its been a long time since? I posted an original. Or anything for that matter. That's for a few different reasons. Over the last year I've been doing composition for more reasons than just for "fun" and to post on here. I've done some work with some theaters around Seattle and short films and stuff so there hasn't really been any post worthy things BUT here is one. Things have really been hard for me recently and I've been having an especially hard time focusing on my music so I decided to just sit down and write a piece to hopefully cheer myself up. I think I did. I don't know, you tell me. Well I'm still here and this is the Coalhouse Rag. I still love you all and thank you for your everlasting support you guys are awesome! Enjoy. :)

Hey, guys. What is up? This is MetaDestroyer and today here I am again with another track for TSK. It has a jazzy rythm and a cool percussion while the progressions and the melody make a nice job. And since that's all what I have to say here, then... meh. Hope you like it, remember the copyright thingy and to share this with that dude who stares at you when you leave your home. Anyways, I appreciate your support and... yeh. So... that's it for now. If you have any questions about the name, please don't do it in the comments :) Enjoy!

Fugue...? *THE ONE-NIGHT STAND FUGUE CHALLENGE (Description for details)*

1 part1 page00:46a year ago364 views
Piano
This really is a stupid idea, but I'm a stupid person so those two things put together can only mean one thing: the creation of the obviously-going-to-be short-lived One Night Stand Fugue Challenge. The rules are pretty self-explanatory from the title but I will lay them out nonetheless:

*The One Night Stand Fugue Challenge rules*
-You have one night (boundaries being from 12 am to 3 am (so actually like early morning but whatever)) to write a solo piano fugue
-It really does not have to be long, 1 minute maximum, 20 second minimum
Other than that there are really no other rules. If you do decide to take this on for some reason, copy/paste this paragraph and add the tag "one night stand fugue challenge." The One Night Fugue Challenge was originally crafted by Tony McCahill.

This is how this challenge was invented:
I was tasked with writing a fugue for my music theory final at the Seattle Conservatory of Music and had a whole week to do it. Of course I did it starting at 1:30 in the f**king morning the day it was due. I thought "hey that was an experience. other people should do this because why the hell not?" That's it.

If you are unsure of how to craft a fugue, I don't feel like explaining it so here's an informative source: http://composerfocus.com/how-to-write-a-fugue/
I wrote it a little differently as my teacher had asked but it's still important to know the main parts. Most importantly I'd have to say is having a good subject so yeah have a good subject unlike me.

If you do take this on, you're crazy but totally awesome. It actually is pretty fun to do. So, good luck to those who take it on!

Have a good day everybody!
-Tony McCahill

About a year ago I posted this arrangement of Over the Rainbow and dedicated to Sean's great-grandmother who had died. Later that year, it was taken off of the site for copyright infringement. I decided to re-arrange it tonight and figure I'd take a chance. I hope you guys enjoy!

Hey, guys. What's up? It's MetaDestroyer and today I'll upload something I made... which I don't know well what I'll use it for and I don't know if I'm gonna continue with it so... meh. Anyways, it's basically what the title says. It's some random swing and I think it's cool for now. Tell me what you think. Hope you like it and remember the copyright thingy. Share this with someone, it doesn't matter who really, support is support anyways... heh. But anyways, there you go. Enjoy!
