For Solo (instrumental or vocal part)

The title stems from how I composed the piece. Normally, I through-compose, meaning that the same idea barely repeats, if at all. However, for what I was aiming for with this piece (a more Joplin-esque ragtime), I needed a bit more simplicity. To achieve this, I broke up all my ideas into sections, then placed them in a ragtime structure, just like fitting lego to each other. Obviously, some changes were made and some additions after, so the piece could actually flow rather than juddering between sections, but that's the origin of the title.
Ragtime is a genre defined by the oom-pa bass line, syncopated melodies, and AA'BB'AA'CC'DD' structure. I have taken some liberties with the structure at the end, but aimed to follow the set structure pretty firmly until then.
With my blob of words out of the way - I hope you enjoy the Lego Rag!
