For Maelic

Made a lot more changes. Edited some wrong notes, fixed some of the length of the rests, and cleaned it up a bit more. Really looking forward to this being finished.

Got another progess report coming at you. Progress is coming good. In this edit, I worked mostly on the 6/4 bar section just to clean that up a little bit and edit some wrong notes and rhythms. There were also some wrong rhythms throughout the piece that I had to fix. This should be done by the end of these two weeks. I actually got an offer for a university in the UK which is pretty sick. Once I get the recording of that, I'll upload a video score to YouTube, so stick around for that.

Deleted all the cresendos and decresendos to fix them up! No need for help anymore :)

This is like my first edit in over 2 months. I have finished most of the percussion parts, cleaned up most of the crescendos and decresendos (it will take a long time to do though, so if anyone wants to help me out by cleaning that up, that would be great), and I established a solid instrumentation. No more changes to the instrumentation. Give me some time to make really solid edits because I have about 5 commissions I have to get done.

I found an orchestra kit in the sound mixer! Sounds pretty good.

My first edit in over two months. I felt like removing all the clarinet parts because it is pointless. More coming soon! I have a commision right now that I am trying to finish up in a about 2 weeks, so I might not be able to work on this for another two weeks. Thanks for understanding :)

Look at those Clarinets though ;). I will hide them at some point because those are optional parts. Still working on percussion, working on fingering for the piano part, and cleaning it up as always :)

Wow. All I have to say is wow. Piano part looks about done (yay!), but there were SO MANY ERRORS. For example, a 1/4 bar was missed at the end, the rhythm for bars 176-180 was wrong, and there is still much more to fix. I found a version to where I can hear the percussion parts really well, so that will be my main focus.

I also added a copyright statement, so please obey it, haha.

Piano is looking awesome, still more measures to complete for piano though. Edited percussion parts, they look amazing now (well, almost amazing)! Haven't gotten started on the parts yet. Yeah I know, I'm a slacker. Once score is cleaned and edited, I will go on to the parts!

Hear that piano ring! Almost finished with piano part. Almost done with percussion. I have got to start moving on to the individual parts before I add more instruments.

Added and optional piano and contrabassoon part. Hopefully it sounds good. Piano part will take some time though.

Also, there should be a cymbal roll/crescendo in measure 129
You're right lol. I'm going to take this score off the internet if people keep pointing out stuff. I appreciate it though
Wait, why take it off of the internet? It could be done much faster if there are many people pointing out errors indefinitely, because then it can be made completely perfect
Yeah but the issue is is that people have played this arrangement unfinished and I've almost completely moved on and technically it's illegal to even have this on here. So idk what to do
Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh, because I really want to see this finished so I can play it sometime
And for me to finish it, I have to correct all of the stupid stuff I did to the score 2 years ago ugh.
Ngl, I already have it printed out from a couple weeks ago, but out band doesn't have a pianist lol
L0L, if that's gone, and -if my band stops sucking,- maybe I could find a group to perform it with
I play violin but since my high school has no orchestra, I'm a percussionist in band
I've had MuseScore for a while so I've tried that before and it's terrible lol. I can't edit anything on the parts because it will affect the score when you do that
when are the individual parts being made
This score is in progress or it is finished?
Cool stuff you got here. There's quite a few errors present, however. For example, you're missing some harmonies in the opening trumpet fanfare/phrase, and I think a note was wrong. It should look something like this: https://i.imgur.com/bsni7oG.png (but put the top layer of trumpet 3 in trumpet 2) m9-14 contains incorrect notes and is missing some harmonies. One suggestion I have is making horns 1 and 2 play the full octaves and having horns 3 and 4 play the harmony alongside m11. In the picture i'm linking, it also contains some fixed notes but it still may not be 100% accurate. https://i.imgur.com/3ghbGB8.png The horns in m17 should probably be louder. And the same stuff applies for repeating parts around here You're missing some harmonies starting at around m31. For example, there's a middle Clarinet 2 part that is missing aside from beats 3 and 4 of m32, and for the flute run, one of them should play a third above. Here's what I think the clarinets sound like: https://i.imgur.com/wWkGC7D.png Another thing is that a lot of notes don't really sound detached when they should be, and I'm not sure if it's just part of the playing style or if certain notes need staccato's and whatnot. I'd do more but it's getting close to 3 am and I should either be doing HW or sleeping so I can wake up early enough to finish. Don't get me wrong, what you guys have is great! But it could be improved upon. Also, you're free to disagree with me since I could be wrong
Thanks for the tips man! These errors were not from me, however, they were from the original creator of this score which was Michael Bowie. I know about these errors and I will hopefully get them fixed when I have the time!
At measure 53 the clarinet slur doesn't sound right, to me, it shouldn't be seperated but combined.
I'll take a look. Thanks for your suggestion!!
Idk If this will help but at measure 164 the flute as what the clarinet and sax has.
You are spot on, I really have to work on this again soon or else people are going to be pointing out more and more mistakes hahaha. Thanks though really appreciate it.
I have no idea if this person changed anything, but I believe someone downloaded this and reuploaded it: https://musescore.com/user/17053691/scores/4143786
Yeah he changed it a little bit. My goal is to finish this damn piece over the summer because everyone wants me to get it done, so yeah.
Any idea how close this is to done? Excellent job so far
No idea dude. I haven't worked on this in a long time. I may work on it at some point this summer but I don't know man.
How do you get all parts? Because I tried printing it and it only gave me 22 pages of the conductors music and 3 page sheet to an instrument
I don't have parts made yet, nor is the score finished.
I have a quite edited score, with some changes regarding to what I hear in different occasions. Do you want them? the original is your score
Sure. Just to point something out though I wasn't the one that made the original score, Michael was, so all mistakes are from him not me, which is why I started to edit it.
How come the 2nd trumpet part is almost identical to the 1st and the 3rd has the other two parts? Also in bar 60 the bottom trumpet part is an A to Ab, not Ab to E. Fantastic job overall though!
Blame Michael, not me. I kind of like it though having the main melody come out greater than the rest. I'll fix the wrong notes though.
Its currently 1:15 AM and I just finished binge watching the entire first season so thank you for this
The bassoon solo kills me every time I love it. So majestic.
Check this out: https://musescore.com/user/75149/scores/1043236 That is the original arrangement that Michael, Dani, and Zach did at the time. When I first found the piece, I knew it had way more potential to be a better arrangement, so I took on the challenge and I guess I'm the main arranger now. But anyways, it just takes practice to arrange stuff like this. Try to develop your ear with ear training on a music therory app with intervals and chords. Try to hum out melodys from other pieces, stuff like that. Anyways, good luck on your path to composing. From, Matthew
I didn't compose it, I arranged it with a person named Michael L. Bowie. If you mean arrange it, it was a team effort with Michael and I, he started the score and I edited it A LOT.
Wow! Amazing! Thank you for sharing this transcription!
