"Chicken Reel" is a dance tune. It was composed by Joseph M. Daly in 1910. Along with "Turkey in the Straw," "Chicken Reel" is probably best known for its use in early animated cartoons as a catchy tune used to represent animal activity. Originally composed as a novelty song, it has since passed into modern folk tradition.

u r amazing thanks a lot for this song i have been wanting to learn this song for a long time(its Lit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
Can somebody please answer the following question for me:? "How do I lengthen my piece? Every time I use this, It gives a certain number of measures I have to make my song in. How do I lengthen the number of measures?" PLEASE ANSWER IT!!!!!!!!!
Press Ctrl+B (or Cmd+B on a Mac) or go to Create->Measures. If you have any question about the MuseScore software, there is a lively forum at http://musescore.org/en/forum You might also find the handbook useful, in particular this page: http://musescore.org/en/handbook/measure-operations
Thank you sosososososo much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This helps a lot. Not trying to bug you or anything, but I have another question. Okay, so, I made a part in my song where I have a repeat with first and second endings, but when I ran it through, It skipped the first ending, went straight to the second but did the repeat!! So, it ended up playing the second ending, AND the repeat at the same time!! If you don't understand, I posted it so you could look at it: http://musescore.com/user/194842/scores/186448
No problem. The best place for your question is the MuseScore forum http://musescore.org/en/forum you'll get a quick reply there.
If Sixteenth Notes are in "presto Agiato," then this song would sound terrible! But this song is one of my favorites.
What? NOT TOO FAST!? It is EXTREMELY FAST, "presto agitato"!
This is awesome! Sort of makes me want to live in 1910.
Hi! Hi! Thanks for uploading this nice piece of music. I opened the XML-version in Klavarscript. There is one problem in measure 54, the measure or bar isn't correct. There's a sixteen-rest (left hand) and sixteen note (right hand) at the end of the measure. I think it should be an eight note and eight rest. Klavarscript immediatly shows this in Klavar Music Notation. I looked at the original score. There's also an incorrect notation of measure 54. Please correct the music in the Musescore and XML-file. Gerard Kunst, 't Harde (The Netherlands)
Hi ggkunst, I checked the original again and measure 54 is ok. See http://ucblibraries.colorado.edu/cgi-bin/sheetmusic.pl?RagChickenReel_1910&Rag&3 The measure 54 is shorter than the other by 1/16.
Thoroughly enjoyed listening to this piece. Thanks for posting it!
