My transcription/arrangement of the PTX cover of "Mary Did You Know", adjusted for performance by my vocal group The Con Artists: http://www.theconartists.com.au

It may not be recording-exact; the transcription has been altered to suit my group. When we perform this, our bass adds in a vocal percussion line. I haven't transcribed it, because frankly I'm awful at percussion writing.

Apologies for the formatting - I use Sibelius and transfer to Musescore to get it online.

If you do perform this, or use the transcription as a base for your own work, I'd love to see what you come up with.

All credit where credit is due - I didn't "write" this, I only transcribed it.

Maybe I can help you. Contact me on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/Rubensmitsmusic
I plan on adapting this for my high school a cappella group -- this is a great version, thanks so much!
bar 54 has more that 4 beats in it, the bar is 9/8 rather than 4/4 just thought you should know
Hey thanks! Im deployed and have a make shift choir that wants to do this song and this is one of the best versions I have found online. Its impressive you did this all by ear its truly a gift.
Thanks, for sharing, you have put in a lot of work here. My wife is going to use it with her choir in Norway. I transposed it half a note up.
I'd love to hear/see it if gets recorded
Can't wait to try this song to our group. So much appreciate your time and effort for making this available to us. Btw, do you have a website to recommend where I can buy an accompaniment for this song and this arrangement? Thank you very much!
I'm not aware of an accompaniment sorry, I transcribed this arrangement by ear listening to the Pentatonix track
MY NEW OFFICIAL SONG!!! https://musescore.com/user/6761391/scores/2370266
I just heard this song for the first time on The Voice, performed by Jordan Smith. Today I went to YouTube and saw Pentatonix KILL IT! This is great! Thank you very much for sharing this. I want to turn this into sheet music for a trumpet choir.
it is going to be a 5 person ensemble (a capella)
I'm going to try this out with my friends at our last junior high Christmas concert
I'd love to see how it goes. I never did write in the vocal percussion line for this one but when we perform it, our bass makes up something awesome. You could either have your bass sing in the percussion parts or double the bari for all the empty bass sections. We've done it with and without VP and it works either way.
we are just about to try this in our college choir - but I can tell you that we are already grateful!! THANK you...
You're welcome. Send me a youtube link of it when you perform it!
This is amazing!!! Thank you!!!!!
Hi, I just wanted to let you know that this is great. My women's a Capella did this last Christmas for our concert. I noticed that you were interested in hearing it done. It is on YouTube. We did add our own style to it so it's not exactly this. For example, instead of percussion we used a drum. If you are interested I could tell how to find it.
I would love to see the clip - that would be very much appreciated.
This is the link to it on YouTube. I come from a small school so we may not be the best. Enjoy! http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=FqqpgnoznvA
Wow, you guys did amazing! I'm just stoked that people are using the arrangement but you really made it your own :)
Just a note, on the Alto 2 line of measure 9, I think Pentatonix stays on the F#. We tried dropping to the E and it felt off. Thanks for all your work making this available.
Feel free to change it! I did the transcription by ear so I may have imagined some bits. Would love to see/hear a recording if you perform it!
I use Sibelius. Would you be willing to email me the score so I can tweak it for our group?
Sure. If you're using Sib 6 or higher you can also download the MusicXML file directly from here and Sib will read it
Sib 6?! I'm still on Sib 3! :) Do you think I'll be able to read it? cindy.wessel@gmail.com if you email it to me. Thanks so much!!
Great! hoping you could also create one for oh Holy night.. i just like their blending.
I'm pretty busy at the moment but I'll put it on my list for next year!
amazing!but…no bass in rest part?
I'm yet to transcribe the percussion part. That bottom line is really the vocal percussion line but there's some overflow where VP isn't doing anything and I needed more bass (my group has 3 girls and 2 guys, so I've had to mangle the parts a bit).
Hey telstronic, how's it going? Thanks so much for transposing the vocals. Have you tried doing the percussion? If not, I'll try my best at it and share it with you.
Hey! I haven't got round to it yet, so feel free to give it a shot!
I uploaded a rough version of it on my profile. (without inhale and exhale details) Check it out!
