Sometimes I Feel Like A Motherless Child TTBB

Uploaded on Apr 17, 2018

A traditional Negro spiritual sung without dialect or accent, just beautiful chords and words.

The often parallel movement between parts helps create the feeling of hollow emptiness and despair. This original a capella arrangement is TTBB quartet plus TTBB chorus. The arrangement is suitabe for medium to high chorus proficiency and allows the voice parts to shine.

A choreography of hands and bodies might enhance the performance of this piece, i.e. hands thumping or slapping chests in tempo, hands held upward or outward, hands held in prayer, bodies turning in unison to 45 degrees and back, etc.
