The Adventures of Captain Olimar: A Pikmin Suite
Uploaded on May 21, 2017
Pikmin is one of my favorite video game series and features fun play mechanics, creative and unique characters, puzzles, time-management, and trying not to be obliterated by giant ferocious chicken-ladybug-snail monsters (again, unique characters). Although the music is not nearly well known as other Nintendo games' music like Mario or Zelda, Pikmin's music offers a wide and fun variety of styles. I've picked some of my favorite pieces from the Pikmin series (pretty much entirely from Pikmin 1 and 2) and compiled them into a stinkin' 15 minute-long suite.
I arranged most of the songs by using poor-quality recordings (by that I mean I held my iPad up to the TV) as references and then adding my own stuff by ear. I also referenced Luke the Cellist's Pikmin medley "Olimar and the Pikmin" (which sadly is no longer on this site).
The suite is divided into seven movements. Bellow is a list of the movements with their respective titles, song content, time markers, and links to their separate scores.
Movement I: "The World of Pikmin" (0:00-1:06)
Movement II: "The Adventure Begins" (1:06-3:46)
Captain Olimar's Theme & Impact Site
Movement III: "Exploring the Forest" (3:46-6:05)
Forest of Hope
Movement IV: "March of the Pikmin" (6:05-8:02)
World Map & Awakening Wood
Movement V: "Into the Depths" (8:02-11:31)
Valley of Repose & Bulblax Kingdom
Movement VI: "The Beast of the Cavern" (11:31-13:11)
Pikmin 2 Boss Battle Theme
Movement VII: "Liftoff" (13:11-15:44)
End of Day March & Pikmin 2: Ending Cinema/The Day's Results
