BSG, I studied these notes and must again thank you for your great efforts. I've learned so much new stuff that I didn't even knew about. Three notes against one counterpoint, the use of range shift, a new look on the echappée, your notion of "simultaneous dissonant gestures moving at different speeds", the retardation and the "weak appogiatura"! I will try to accumalate these ideas and apply them to future compositions. Here are two typo's that (I think) I found: page 2, BWV 159, M. 17, intervals should be 10 - 9 - 8 instead? Page 6, BWV 244 M. 10, beat 2, interval should be a 10 instead of 6?
Thanks. Typos fixed (I use 3 there now, not 10, in keeping with preceding labels), I should publish Il terzo libro soon (I have a draft).
Bernard, don't you think that some performances of Bach's Cantatas by some musicians are too fast. I think it's difficult to find the right tempo to appreciate all the conterpoint richness. Listen to this:

I'd rather like this:

even with the delicious change of tempo in "et in terra pax...
You are really generous sharing your knowledge.
