This march is inspired by the clinic Xander van der Ploeg gave at the Dordtse Drumclinic Day about Basel and Swiss drumming. He told about the Basel feel and pulse that almost every Basel march has. Inspired by the power and the pulse they use in Basel drumming, and some typical Swiss grundlagen I composed this march.

Rudimental Roundup is an exercise that can easily be played by drummers of different bands or
backgrounds, without extensive rehearsing of the exercise.

Create a circle with all drummers facing the center. One drummer kicks off with a measure count-off
followed by a measure with a rudiment. The rest starts with a measure of Paradiddles and then a measure of the rudiment... etc. After the last measure. the next drummer does the count off with a new rudiment.
Each count-off can be in a different tempo.
If there is are Bass drummers, they can also take place in the circle an do a count-off

This exercise can be repeated until all drummers have done a rudiment... and more...

Having a history of being the drummer of a progressive metal band, RD Member René van Haaren felt the need to compose a progressive rudimental solo for snare drum, bass drum and drum kit.
In the solo he used some drumparts of his band Ulysses which results in an explosive solo with lots odd time signatures.
Difficulty level: 3 intermediate
