This version of "Scotland The Brave" is arranged and orchestrated by Vernon Riddell. The original composer is unknown according to intenet sources. It has been dated as early as the 1820's to as late as 1895. It is an unofficial anthem of Scotland. It was first published in 1911. Lyrics were added in 1951. It is used by many organizations (schools, sport teams, military, etc) as a theme song or anthem in Scotland and Canada. It is very popular with bagpipe bands in Scotland, Canada and America. It has been known by other titles. I grew up with Scottish music because my mother was a Scot and my grandfather and uncles loved to play records of the Scotish pipe bands.
