Nostos (finding yourself) - In Progress
For Chamber Orchestra
Uploaded on Apr 16, 2019
This is just a little something I'm working on. I wanted it to start out fast paced and eventually finish off with a slow melancholic touch. It's basically a contemporary classical piece; not really pop, but not purely classical. So I guess I'm taking a minimalistic contemporary classical film score approach.
I'm practically just getting started, but I'd love to get some feedback if anyone would like to help out!
The score is supposed to send out emotional, misty, somewhat sad but hopeful vibes, and I hope I get to capture that when I'm done.
I want it to last about 3 minutes tops, so... yeah.
EDIT (May 1st, 2019): I've updated the score. I now have a better idea of what it's becoming, but I'm not sure if it matches what it's meant for; nonetheless, it'll become a great score.
I organized the melodies a little, and tried adding complementary phrases while improving the dynamics somewhat. I also added a piccolo because I thought it sounded nice, but I'm sure I can improve that too.
EDIT (May 5th, 2019): I'm trying to work on the last minute of the score. I want to make a really dramatic emotional climax so the last few bars could be a soft smooth piano finish, like it first began.
After that I plan on polishing the whole thing.
EDIT (May 24rd, 2019): I've polished it up a bit, added pedal to the piano where I want it to have, worked on the dynamics and added repetition bars. I also added what I think is a soft pleasing tense ending, so... I believe that'll be all for now.
