At one point, MuseScore was talking about making a way to upload the piano roll directly to YouTube. Does anyone know if that has happened or how to do it if it has?
Whenever I go to listen to scores online with my iPad or iPhone, the viewing is super buggy. Two examples are:
1. At a certain point in the piece, the playback will just stop, and won’t continue with the piece.
2. If I try to click on a different measure to listen to, it just goes back to the beginning and not to that measure.
Any help would be appreciated.
I have a problem when listening to percussion music on Android tablet Samsung Galaxy tab. The music sounds like it should both on my computer through MuseScore 2.0.3 and on MuseScore.com after uploading, but not on the android app. The scores play other instruments instead. Bass drums sound like trumpets, snare sounds like a trombone and tenors make no sound at all. Any ideas. Thanks!
Historically, MuseScore has had two mobile apps for Android: a paid one (Songbook) and a free one (MuseScore). There's also a desktop version of MuseScore where users can have Pro accounts that are not linked to any of the apps which means they can't use their premium features there.
The vast majority of users use MuseScore Android to browse scores and in only a couple of years of its existence, about a million users have launched it at least once. These numbers inspire us to move forward and continue improving MuseScore products even further.
Today, I want to announce a significant update that will be released shortly and after which MuseScore will transition to a cross-platform Freemium model.
This means that we'll unify subscriptions and accounts of the two existing apps and the desktop version of MuseScore. This way, Pro users from desktop will finally be able to use all premium features of the mobile app which will help us concentrate our efforts on improving it.
Why are we doing this?
Our business model is 'Make products, not content'
We put a lot of effort into improving our products. Mobile apps are a direction that we deem one of the most prospective ones and where we put the most effort into.
While some companies make their apps free in stores but ask money for the access to scores, we negotiate with right holders of the scores in order to give our users free access to all public scores provided by our community.
We're searching for new competitive monetization models that will allow us to stay on par with market's powerhouses and we want to achieve this by continuously improving our services.
All scores should be available to everyone
This is our core value. Any user from any device should have the most convenient way of accessing scores. The main advantage of the freemium model is that it allows all users to explore the app and upgrade their access if they like it enough. And by 'like' we firstly mean quickly and easily finding what users need or getting a lot of views on their own scores.
Freemium works, it's how the majority of the mobile apps operate
We believe that the freemium model is the most prospective way of the mobile app development and that it'll let us accumulate more resources for turning MuseScore Android from a simple score browser to an invaluable tool for any musician.
Pro users shouldn't have any restrictions when they use our products. From the very first day of our work, we've been thinking how to give more value to pro users. Since then, we've introduced a lot of new features most important of which is being able to access all features of the mobile app. Users who previously bought MuseScore Songbook will soon get the access to the full version of the MuseScore mobile app (to get the access you’ll need to log in to your new account).
Freemium means free
We'd like to note that these changes don't mean our apps will be hidden behind a paywall. The key functions of the app such as search and playback will remain free. However, some extra features like the offline access, opening scores from the local storage and a couple of others will be paid.
We want more feedback and more ideas
We want to make our apps the best and the most useful for beginners and pros alike. That’s why we want to implement as many helpful instruments as we can and looking forward to receiving feedback from you. Bringing all products together will let us concentrate on developing them. Recently, the sheet music hasn’t even been showing when viewing the score. I can’t play the audio either. I’ve given it time to load and refreshed it and everything, but nothing is working. Pls help
Hi, the web version of muscore allows me to enable the keyboard at the bottom of the page, which displays which notes on the keyboard should be hit. On the iPad, this feature is not present - or at least I don't know how to enable it.
Can you please let me know if there is a way to enable this feature in the iPad app, or if it will get added in a future release?
Yesterday, I opened Musescore on my iPhone (for the first time for a while - I usually use my iPad) and all I got was a blank screen that I simply had to close. Having checked my iPad version, I noted the new pdf export message so checked my updates on iPhone and found Musescore had also been updated yesterday on my iPhone. Presumably this blank screen is a problem associated with the latest release on iPhone. Is it caused by a failure of the new release message?
I raised a couple of problems in this discussion page a week ago, neither of which apparently warranted a response. The latest release appears to have fixed one of the problems (asterisks and underlines in lyrics) but the other problem with the cursor not following the music remains active. Is there some other place that bugs should be reported in order to get proper feedback and traceability?
Due to several effortless tries to upload a song to songbook in former versions of songbook I have a lot of duplicates on iPad. There's no way to delete theese. How can I get rid of the duplicates?
I've never been quite sure of why the musescore pro account prices 49 USD for a full year but when you want to pay month by month it charges 6.99 USD for each month. That math doesn't add up, 49/12 is about 4.08, so the monthly payment option should be 4.08 USD a month. There could also be some other reason for this difference in cash amounts that I myself have not looked into but I'm just confused and also intrigued by this pricing decision.

I'm having severe problems - a score that has been successfully uploaded this morning does not play any longer, and other existing of my scores don't show on the score page, and don't play either. The 'play' button doesn't react.
I've tried with different older and newer scores. What happened?? Could someone please take care of this?
I cannot not upload/save/upload from program. If I upload from the program, I get "internal error".

There is debate in the Bodhrán community, as to whether the playing should be written down or not. No Bodhrán player I know plays a tune the same way twice, and it is very much playing with the feel of the music.
Having said that, when I first started Bodhrán drumming I found it useful to have a guide as to what to do, so adding Bodhrán to MuseScore may help beginners. Also it would be useful to have the drumming added to a Tin Whistle score, for example, which gives a feel for what the two instruments will sound together.
However if you are dead set against Bodhrán notation, then I understand :-)
I recently asked to join two groups. It's been days and I've received nothing from either group. I don't suspect the owners are enlisting the FBI to do a background check so I assume the owners are absent, away at school, generally derelict or, perhaps, have bought a farm. I wonder how many others are awaiting confirmation.
I realize this is not the fault of MuseScore management...perhaps someone has a solution?
I think the redesign of the play bar is fine. I don't care much about placing it at the top or bottom etc., But I've found that when I play a song on my phone, I cannot see the current play time anywhere. This is very annoying as I often make comments or communicate with collaborators using time markers (e.g. section 3:00-4:12). It is very inconvenient if the time information cannot be seen.
Why does the "top users" page look different?
Apparently I'm one of the top 5 users now...which I highly doubt ._____.
Is it a glitch?
If not, how does it work now?
