The new RD Lick 'Sparkling' by our team member Jesse
Check it out and let us know what you think of it.
from all of us at Rudimental Drummers a happy new years eve and a great new year.
Here is our #MuseScoreMonday score for this week!
it's #MusescoreMonday again!!!
Especially for the Christmas we added a lick, written on the music
of 'All I want for Christmas' by Mariah Carey.
Happy drumming and have a great Christmas!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mTpGF6otM1Q It's called Breadfan and our band loves the song so much that our band teacher, he errrr banned (or band, if i wanted to be punny) the song. So he took away the song from us and we don't have the music for it. Some of the best players remember it, but most forgot. So it would be appreciated if someone could bring our lovely breadfan back to us so we can be happy yet again because we hate our band teacher and vice versa and we want our breadfan back.

Hello! Mark and I have finalized the brass parts for the ballad of our original show, 2 + 2 = 5. The ballad we've chosen is The Hymn of Acxiom by Vienna Teng, as we believe it fits the theme of the show - George Orwell's "1984" - perfectly.
If you are unfamiliar with the project, here is a quick summary:
Mark and I plan to have as many of you submit recordings of yourselves playing through the show as we can. We will then compile the recordings into one large file, and place it over virtual drill that Mark is writing, to create a virtual drum corps of sorts. If you'd like to record, here's all the info you'll need!
You can play through as many parts as you'd like. In fact, we would much appreciate it if you did! (For example, if you play the trumpet, it will be better for the end result if you record and submit all three trumpet parts, rather than just doing one) Of course, you don't have to do this! Mark and I will be listening through each recording of the trumpet soloist's part, and picking the one we think would best benefit the overall recording.
We would prefer if you submit one large (3-ish minute) recording, but if you find it difficult to play through the part(s) in one sitting, please refer to the recording guide below!
Here is the link to all the parts: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1CTplR1RBHZX2YCJZ80M35VF20sjaPI9u?usp=sharing
3.) Recording Guide
Recording One: Beginning to Letter D
Recording Two: Letter D to Letter F (Trumpets, include two measure pick-up)
Recording Three: Letter F to Letter I
Recording Four: Letter I to the end
Again, we'd much prefer your recording be from the beginning to the end, to simplify our own work, but we decided to include this in case some need the breaks in between. Trumpets obviously don't need a recording one/four, as they don't play at these points. Please play the part at the exact tempo that's listed. This can easily be done by playing along with the recording (preferably while wearing a headset!).
If you have recorded the entirety of the ballad at once, submit an MP3/MP4 file with this name as the format:
If you used the segmented guide above, use this format:
Send submissions to email@example.com.
If you have any questions, ask them below! Thanks everyone!

EDIT: We're looking for recordings of the ballad! Here's the link for more info! https://musescore.com/groups/musecorps/discuss/5027254
Hello everyone! My friend Mark and I have been working on a show for fun. It is based off of the novel 1984, and will likely be completed within the next month.
If enough people sign up, we hope to create a virtual drum corps of sorts. Basically, by this, we plan to have as many people record themselves playing though the parts as we can get, then compile the parts together into one big audio file. Mark is working on writing drill in a program.
All I'm hoping for with this specific thread is to see how many people would be interested in hearing more about this idea. Lemme know if you'd want to play in it below, and ask any questions that you may have! I'll make a bigger post in the near future with specifics.
If you haven't seen the score yet, here's a link: https://musescore.com/themtcrew/scores/5217400
Thanks guys! If you want/can, let any friends that you think would be interested know about this. We hope to get as many brass players as we can, and will take any percussion recordings if we can find them! To be clear, we're not looking for recording yet, as the show isn't completed. Just wanted to see how many would be interested!
Just a reminder that if you're planning on submitting something for the competition, the deadline is tomorrow. A lot of you have commented, but nobody has submitted yet. Is anyone planning on submitting something? And if so, should I push the deadline back by a few days?
Thanks for any feedback!
Hello everyone! The 2018 Drum Corps season is over, and I figured it was time for me to start this group up again. Therefore, I've decided to hold the first competition that I talked about in this groups' other post!
This first competition is basically a test. It's just for fun, you could say. If enough people participate, I'll hold another one in the future, and possibly include some level of prizes. Just depends on how many people participate!
I thought we'd start off easy. Create a drum corps style arrangement from any piece (s) written by Ludwig van Beethoven. The arrangement should be longer than one minute in length, but no more than three. You can include percussion if you want, but just brass would be alright too! When you have something completed, post it to MuseScore and post a link to it in a comment on this post. I'll live submissions open until a week from today, Tuesday 9/18 at around 2:00 PM EST.

Hi everyone! I've been a part of the drum corps community on Musescore for a few years now, and have been adding my DCI transcriptions to the groups on here ever since. I've been into making my own original drum corps arrangements recently and noticed that there was no group specifically for drum corps arrangements. So, here it is!
I have no idea how popular this group is going to be, but that's okay. If it does become relatively active, I DO have a few ideas for it. The biggest one I have in mind is a weekly/bi-monthly/monthly drum corps arrangement competition. You know, "make an arrangement for this song," or "make an arrangement that fits this theme," or even "write a full original show." Stuff like that. If it gets big enough, there could even be prizes involved!
Let me know how you think this group should evolve, or if it even should. Also, sorry if the name is stupid. I thought it was clever.
So, I just hit the big 300 mark! What should I do? I Was thinking of revamping/ finishing the old old old Phantom of the opera string quartet I had done a million years ago Lol So If you have a suggestion of a piece I should arrange, or an interesting idea for an original, Then feel free to share! Thanks!!!
First group i've made, Its for ALL THE THINGS, If you don't know where to put a new piece. Put it here. All other info is on the group page! Come and join!!!
"I'll save you!"

We (Joseph and Hannah) have decided that every time we double in the number of followers (so right now we're at 5, so it'll be 10, 20, 40, 80, maybe throw in something for 100, 160, etc.) we will alternate posting an original composition to thank you! (It may or may not be very good. We're certainly not experts ;)
I'd like to try something fun in my new role as co-administrator of Laugh Silly. Each Month, I will name the best laugh-inducing, silly composition submitted during the month, at least according to me and then post the winners here.
You are also welcome to nominate what you think are the best of the month, also.
here is an idea for a film music contest.
here is the scene:
Supergirl and wonderwoman are in a face-off and are getting ready to fight.
Write themes for each character.
incorporate the themes into suspenseful music to accompany the scene showing them getting ready to fight.
Any one interested?
Deadline is July 31.
do your have a favorite film music?
what about it makes it your favorite?
(what is muic?)
