I'm loving MDL so far; it's everything I've wanted out of Musescore percussion, and more. However, there were a few minor things that I've noticed missing that might make for nice additions.
First off, bass drum shots would be nice. Most lines use rim shots (in addition to clicks) on at least first and second bass, so notation for shots vs. rim clicks on basses might come in handy.
Secondly, a hand mute for Drums 3 and 4 on the tenors would make a nice addition, since skanks (shot on 3rd or 4th followed immediately by mute) are fairly common.
And finally, let me say that I know that Muse is a notation software and not a playback software, so this one might be asking too much: it might be nice to have zone changes (specifically on snare) in playback in the future, just to enhance the difference between guts/halfway/center/etc.
Thanks for reading!
Congrats on earning your Eagle Scout! It is a high honor! Introduce yourself here. Things like: what was your Eagle Project? What were some of your favorite merit badges? Did you receive your Order of the Arrow award? Have a great time.

I'm starting to make videos like this one where I teach you how to play one of my original tenor licks, and MuseScore Drumline has helped me so much in making these kinds of videos! Honestly, I don't know of another program that does what it can do, and I probably wouldn't be able to do this without it.
I hope you guys enjoy the video, I had a lot of fun making it! All the sheet music is on profile on here, and the second video is on the way.
Just sayin' hi :) I'm new here...
I get stuck mostly when writing front ensemble and it usually happens with keyboard instruments whether that's finding a rhythm or a groove or trying to blend with battery or building for an impact. Any tips?
I just installed MDL 1.2.1, but what are the changes in this version from the previous version?
Thanks!
One says: "Hey you, the other day I gave a concert and had to play with someone, who had built a harp like you and me into a wooden box and knocked on it with felt hammers."
I have created a Bodhrán instrument in MuseScore, and attached a score with a Bodhrán part added to a Tin Whistle tune.
Write a ringtone for a phone using any instruments you want. It can't be more than 45 seconds though. Deadline July 22, so you have one month.
EDIT: Deadline July 12
So downloaded musescore 3 and had to reinstall MDL again and I noticed some of the palettes are missing from the MDL section compared to the musescore 2.3.2 one. I haven't noticed if anything else is missing but just thought I'd let anyone know.
A room for games and anything fun...
Can someone either teach me how to write aux or help me write something? I desparately need it for an indoor show (gravity) and it's gotten way better.
I'm attempting to write a timpani solo that uses the MDL rails and pictograms, but I can't find them anywhere
