Improving transcriptions from IMSLP- Proofread me Group

Lots of people are copying scores from IMSLP to Musescore but it is not always easy to keep these transciptions mistake free.
Sometimes is easy to spot mistakes for people who know the pieces just by listening them, so I created the group  Proofread Me.
This group is aimed to two kind of people: copysts that want their work proofread and people who want to spare a couple of minutes to spot any mistake on those transciptions.
Just upload here the scores you want to get checked (or send a link to them), or join this group if you want to help proofreading the submited scores.

Rubato in separate voices

I'm writing a piano concerto, and I would like for the arpeggio in the right hand to be independent rhythmically to the eighth notes in the left hand. Currently, the arpeggio is written as a 9-tuplet with fermatas over each note. The result is a swung bass which really does not fit the style of the piece.

As a matter of notation, I made the arpeggio note heads small to indicate a lack of rhythm, but the note heads in the left hand standard to indicate that they are to be played at tempo. Is there any way currently, or could there possibly be any way in the future, that this effect could be achieved in playback? The fermata trick is already a huge step forward from when one would have to change the tempo for each note; I think there could even be a better way to implement rubato.

Copyright infringement... again...

Hello!
Once again my composition Minnesota has been taken down due to alleged copyright infringement. And once again without any explanation as to what I am supposed to have "stolen". To my knowledge I have written this piece myself from scratch and therefore I'm of course very surprised that someone claims that I've used someone else's work.
The last time this happened I recieved a notification that it was a mistake on your behalf and you even apologized for the mishap.
Is this yet another mistake or is there actually a piece that sounds just like mine?
If there is I would like to know where to find it so I can listen to it. (Maybe someone  has actually stolen my piece of music?)
Best regards
Kalle Edh

Closeout

Folks,

What is the correct procedure for closing my account and deleting my scores? I have not found anything on the website that indicates the correct sequence such that the scores are deleted first and the account closed second.

It is not possible to delete scores individually due to the number of scores so I'm hoping there is an automated sequence or a back-door method (script/procedure).

Thanks in advance!

MuseScore introduces mobile practice mode

MuseScore introduces mobile practice mode

Every day hundreds of thousands of people use MuseScore services for practicing music, learning scores or preparing for performances. The Catalog created by the MuseScore community is the biggest score library.

We’ve been recently putting a lot of effort into improving the product for performers, not only on the website but in the mobile app.

At the moment, our App processes scores the same way our desktop solution does. But mobile devices have their peculiarities (mainly because of the screen size and touch-interfaces). It’s not always convenient to read scores using our current mobile app, especially if users don’t want or don’t know how to manage more advanced app settings. Users have to turn pages all the time (even more often than when they use regular paper scores) if they’re using the Play mode. So, they can’t see the next measure when done playing the current one. Also, it’s not clear where to manage such settings as the metronome, tempo or transposing.

Taking all this into account, we’ve launched another update which is aimed at the global improvement of mobile apps for professional performers and students.

Please, welcome Practice Mode. Now you’re one click away from entering a special mode, aimed at simplifying the process of playing an instrument and learning new scores.

In this mode, users see scores in a "continuous view" shown in one line with perfect readable scaling applied. Simply by clicking the Play button, users hear the metronome intro which is followed by the convenient flow of notes. Users can always see what they’re playing, along with a couple of more measures that are coming up next.

On the same screen, users not only change the tempo, the key or turn the metronome on/off but also play the original sound of the instrument (to hear whether they’re playing it correctly).
This improvement is supposed to make the App more convenient to use, and really, get it on the next level. Now it’s becoming much easier and more comfortable to learn and perform scores from the huge MuseScore catalog.

At the moment, we’re looking for the App and the new mode beta-testers.

To join the beta-testers community, follow the link and click "Become a tester".

After we’ve released the next build supporting the new mode, you just need to install it, open any score and you’ll be immediately redirected to the needed mode. We really hope that this update will visibly improve your experience and help with the development of your musical skills.

We are open to any suggestions and appreciate your help with the development of the new mode. You’re welcome to join us!

Regards,
Dmitriy Popov
MuseScore / Chief Product Officer

P.S. Planned date for the first beta release of the feature - the next week.

Copyright Email hell...

Getting inundated with 11 (so far) "Copyright notifications" from Musescore for arrangements of a Baroque composer André Ernest Modeste Grétry (1741 – 1813) is a bit much. Clearly in the public domain and purported to be "claimed" by Apple Music's "Alan Menken" is cray-cray... Having to address each one of these individually is way over the top. Bad things have been happening to this site lately. Really pulling the quality and usability down, down, down...

You Tube Audio scores -- bottom 400 pixels getting cut off

https://musescore.com/user/28728657/scores/5618597 for example (select YouTube source or this doesn't happen). Playing any score with a YouTube audio source (not video) leaves a grey box at the bottom of the score, obliterating what should be there.  This has been going on for about a week; I had hoped it would get fixed, but ...  That's Firefox 67.0.2, Mac Mojave.10.4.5.
