New Piano Roll Feature on the musescore.com

Today marks the release of MuseScore Piano Roll. Piano Roll is a popular and convenient method to display piano notation in a way that not only simplifies learning a new piece for novice musicians who lack a teacher, it also beautifully visualizes each score.

(Video captured from https://musescore.com/classicman/scores/33715 )

Give it a try by simply clicking on the Piano Roll icon now available on all solo piano scores. Be sure to tell us what you think in Improving MuseScore.com!

All of these improvements are designed to not only make MuseScore.com the most valuable resource online for sharing and discovering great musical works but for learning them as well.

We hope you’ll be as excited about this new feature as we were to create it for you, and as always we look forward to your feedback.

This is just the first of an exciting series of updates and releases for MuseScore PianoRoll; we're already hard at work on improving the experience!

Selfmade-videogame medleys results

Since only three people counted in, I'll have to just get to the end here.
I was pretty impressed with Nobleewe for her surprising medley that sounded amazingly like videogame music.  To her, I would have to place a close second with...
VGA, you nailed it with composition here.  For organizing things so late, (I'm thinking the 22nd,) you made one that really killed it.  Gonna have to say, this one was a great one that I have to applaud, all things considered.  Let me know when that game comes out man, I'm gonna try and download it to my kindle Fire (hopefully XD)
The third entry was illegitimate because Megalovania was an old one, but out of mercy for the work put into transcribing, I'm going to set that as a third place.

Thank you for competing, guys!  Hope to see more of ya'll compete next time, because I know you can!  See ya'll later, now it's Nobleewe's turn to set a competition.

RULES (Must Be Read Before Sign Up)!

Thanks for joining! If you're thinking of competing in this awesome group, there a few rules that must be announced before you sign up.

1. No plagiarism! (No exceptions and will be removed).

2. No foul language (of any kind, includes bullying and offensive language otherwise you will be removed).

3. Must sign in first. If you compete without signing in, it makes things harder for Jay and me to ref.

4. Scores must be added to this group once completed so that we can have easy access to them.

5. NO randomly entering scores in if you haven't signed in! This will result in the unfortunate removal of the member and the score added. It makes things very hard and disorganized for us Admins.

6. Have a good time!!! :D

If you agree to these terms then type a "Y" if you agree, or an "N" if you don't agree. If you don't agree, unfortunately you will have to be removed. (These rules apply to those cheering on contestants as well). Doing this helps keep things organized and easier for Jay and me to keep things in check, and ready for a fun and friendly competition. Phew! Thanks everyone!

All files I download or create on my mac and view in my iOS device need to be resized to be useful. Is there a way to save the file so it displays like you resized it so you dont have to do it every time. I want to use this app in a Jam setting and I must be able to pull the tune up quickly and transpose it quickly. If I have to resize to see the part it just takes too long to hit the plus sign to get it readable.

not sure what you mean by reflow but everytime you close a file and reopen it it is very small and most of the time it is only a few staffs if it is a lead sheet

Congratulations! I personally really loved this song. It totally matched the adventurous feeling of the story you included. And the percussion is outstanding! I’m deeply impressed. Congrats on winning not only the February challenge, but the FIRST official music challenge of Jay and John’s challenges! Quite the historic event for this group! Well done, we hope to see you continue to do great things!

-Jay

WOW! Just WOW! I was blown away by your score! The adventurous feeling you somehow perfectly captured was breath taking! Not too much, but not to little. Congratulations! And I'm looking forward to seeing more from you.

Songbook playback

Playing back a single voice from an SATB score on my smartphone  (Motorola 4G)....  When there are two consecutive notes of the same pitch  (of any, or different values) which are not tied, they are played back  as one note (of the total value of the notes) with no discernible break  between the two notes.  Also occurs when the two notes are separated by a  bar line.  Is there a setting I can adjust, or does it need a fix?  It  didn't happen with earlier version of Songbook.
