Hey guys! This is the first time I ever wrote an atonal piece, so I would like some advice and critique!
I am looking for help on a Bruno Mars ballad that may or may not be marched for a high school band. I've gotten all lot of the structure down I just need help with details! I'm a percussionist so it's pretty difficult lol I'm having someone help write the mallet parts and I'll probably do the battery but I just need help with a lot of the winds. Much love :)

Write themes for each character.
incorporate the themes into suspenseful music to accompany the scene showing them getting ready to fight.

I'm glad to find such a large group of my people! So now an actual discussion question. I am trying to play this piece here ----> https://musescore.com/user/5473921/scores/2030666 and measure 27 etc. is killing me! I can move my fingers fast enough, but I cant move my air fast enough. Any tips?
I'm currently doing a collection of pieces in all 24 keys, for piano solo. I need help completing the set, so I'd appreciate it if you'd help out composing a short (less than or around 4 minutes) in G# minor (for now). The only criteria it must fulfill in order for it to be considered in the project is that the style of the piece must be different from the rest. Example: the piece in F major is written in a waltz, the one in Eb major is written 4/4 against 3/4, C minor has a Prokofiev (I think) feel to it, F minor is written in jazz, etc. Also, it must show some form of virtuoso/impressionism (whichever you are aiming for). I am interested in the dances forms (tango, marzuka, minuet, sarabande...), but anything goes for now. Credits will be given for the piece if it makes it in, as well as a favourite and a follow, very well deserving.

Hey, I know that this is for horn players (which I am), but are there any mellophone players here? And if there is, any advice because I really want to expand my range. My mello is in the key of b-flat.

I'm not a brass player, I'm a violinist. I'm just writing for myself with MuseScore, trying to build my composition and orchestration skills. How do you decide which tuba to use in compositions? Wikipedia says that some tubas are more commonly used in UK, the other is more commonly used in US. If I ever have a real player to write for, then I'll write for that persons instrument. Until that happens, can you give me any suggestions, comments etc? (I posted one of my composition exercises , with a tube, to this group, it's the variations on Swanee river) Thanks.

I was thinking about trying to get money to buy a new, professional horn, and I was wondering what kind of horns are the best. I know that the Berlin Phil plays on Alexander 103s, and they always seem to get good reviews, so I would definitely look at those, but I also know that there are other fantastic instruments and the Alexander might not be the best fit for me. Right now I play a Holton H179, and it works quite well for me, but I have college auditions next year and then college itself, and I think that a better horn would be beneficial.
I was looking online at alexander 103s, just for fun, and I saw that there are several different metals that they use. Each has its pros and cons, but I couldn't find which most people prefer.
If it helps at all, I prefer playing high horn (1st or 3rd).
Out of curiosity, which song in this group is the hardest to play? I don't mean impossible to play or it being a super long song with mediocre technical skill, just hard on a technical/interpretive level. Or should this be a mini-competition lol

Hello there! I was wondering about what everyone's range was. I am so self conscious that I have a tiny range. I also find that for big concerts where we play 10-12 pieces I can barely hit high notes at the end. I was looking for tips on how to expand range and build better endurance. Anything will help!
