Trumpet Player

in Trumpet

Hey everyone!

So, I am a trumpet player (this is my 3rd year playing) who will be starting to play in the high school marching band next year! I would love to meet a few trumpet players who are around the same age and skill level as me. If thats you, lets talk!

Some melodies in need of lyrics, and a score needing feedback

Hi there,

It's been a while that I joined this group but I haven't posted or introduced myself here so far.  I am from Germany and I started using Musescore and composing about 3 years ago. I work as a software developer but music has
become very essential in my life durng the past 4 or 5 years. I also take classical voice lessons.  Practicing has given me a lot of inspiration for finding melodies as I often improvise/vocalise over a drone for warm-up.

To get an impression what I've composed so far, you can find several pieces published via my profile https://musescore.com/user/8752261  -  mostly in various sets. Last year, I took part in a competition here on the website, the Musescore Composition Competition 2018. One of the sets contain my contributions to this contest, others are melodies to lyrics of existing traditional songs, or accompaniments I made for one or the other vocal piece I wanted to learn.

I've uploaded one first score where I tried for the first time to write lyrics to existing melodies of my own,
and since English is not my mother tongue, I'd appreciate your feedback.
This belongs to a project on which I cooperate with another Musescore user, so I have just added it to this group, I haven't published it yet.
This score can be found here:

For two other scores, I haven't yet got any idea what lyrics could fit, though the melodies somehow sound like these could be songs.
They sound like rounds to me, one isn't exactly a round because I used woodwinds in different registers to replace the choir aaahs and ooohs which I don't like, and I had to adjust the melodies a bit to fit the instruments' range better.
For one of them, I have a work title "As Night is Falling" because it sounded like a night song to me - maybe it provides some inspiration, but you could well suggest another title in case you found lyrics to which it wouldn't fit. It might even be some
bible verse, psalm or prayer line.

There are some more but these still need a bit of preparation.

I would be happy to have inspired one or some of you to write text for these pieces, and I'm very curious what you come up with.

Please help me for the perfect Valentines Day Present (Song) :)

in Trumpet

Hello fellow players,

i need your help in finding the right notes from the Song:

Left Boy - Bitte brich mein Herz nicht Baby

I would like to play the lead singing melody on the trumpet (cause its learn-able and one of my gf's favorit tracks).

since i have never done anything like thats  i am having a little troubles, could you please help me with you experience and well trained ears?

so far i know:

concerpitch Key = Bb Minor ( which would be C Minor for B trumpet right?)

So far i am guessing:
Ab - Bb -Ab - Bb - C1 -Ab - Ab - Bb
Ab - Bb - Bb -Ab- Bb- F (x2)

or it it:
Eb - F - and so on?

Thanks a lot i know its a simple track but please help me :DD

Still more words requiring a composer

These words have 6 syllables in every line. Every other line rhymes. Try writing a song for this visit, by a mysterious stranger, to an inn. (In the middle of a storm)
You think up the title...

The wind howled, thunder roared,
And lightning smote the sky
Rain battered on the roof,
Charcoal clouds swirled on high
A dark figure trudged up
The rain and mud filled lane
His black cape was pulled tight
To try and stop the rain

A lantern shone ahead,
Swinging in the fierce storm
Towards this beacon went
The dark and rain soaked form
Shutters closed to the wind
Showed but a crack of light
To the door he did go
A shadow in the night

The keep heard the wind howl
As he opened the door
And inside, water ran
From cape onto the floor
Face hidden by his brim
His collar turned up high
He closed the tavern door
Against the winds harsh cry

A muddy trail he left
To a chair by the wall
He sat, back to the fire,
For warmth against the squall
From beneath his cape came
A gloved hand with some gold
He beckoned for hot stew
And a mug of ale cold

Reaching up, he undid
The clasps that held his cape
He threw it on a chair,
A black and formless shape
His hair was long and black
Though shadow hid his face
A steel sword turned to gold
By flick’ring fireplace

Silently, ate his stew
Then chased it down with ale
Outside the storm had turned
Into a north-east gale
He stood and donned his cape
And turned towards the door
Without a word he went,
Across the cold black moor.
