Hello! I am hoping someone here can help me. :)
I’ve been searching for an arrangement of a song from “Hook” entitled “Remembering Childhood” by John Williams. I have seen many arrangements of a song called “I Remember” but that is only a small portion of the song I’m looking for. The part of the song I want especially is the upbeat, exciting part of the song (when he finds his happy thought and flies again). It is one of my favorites and I would love to play a piano version. I know it won’t quite be the same as the original with the orchestra, but I’ve seen people on here do some amazing arrangements of other pieces!
Does anyone on here know of an arrangement of this particular song?
Hello! I am hoping someone here can help me. :)
So my parents finally bought me an alto last March (I had 3 years under my belt then) and it's a student yamaha. I thought it sounded fine, and I played fairly decent with it. Marching band passed, and no problems. I got a new mouthpiece (Selmer c star) before auditioning for an all east TN honor band a few months ago in December (I made it), and I thought I sounded good still. My teacher said my sound was fine. Recently, for the past month or two, I've been noticing a subtle "buzzy" sound when I play, and at first I thought it was the reed. I changed reeds and found out that was not the case. I showed my band director, and he said it shouldn't be a problem. I showed my teacher, too, but he said he couldn't hear it. I even gave my friend a chance to play my sax, and we both could hear it. Fast track to a few days ago; I got my sax out to start practicing, and immediately I was hit with the very noticeable buzzy sound... but much worse than before. Almost every note has the buzzy sound in it; especially middle g through middle d. I'm going to meet my teacher about it in a few days. But, would anyone know any reason for this just suddenly happening? I feel like it could be my mouthpiece, since it has tiny scratches here and there, or my alto itself, or both. Any advice would be appreciated.
I posted a discussion about this piece about 4 months ago and have updated it since then. Please enjoy.
The wait is over! The first competition is here!
That didn't take long! Thank you to everyone who has joined the group in the last 24 hours or so. :D
So, I have a couple of things to talk about, the first is announcing the competition, the second is regarding Admins and Judges etc, so I want to quickly apologise for the lengthy post.
But let's start with the fun bit!
CCC#1 - "The Watzmann" by Caspar David Friedrich.
"The Watzmann" is a painting by artist Caspar David Friedrich, made in the mid 1820s. It is a fantastic landscape painting, and although I know nothing about art, I absolutely love this painting.
This challenge was inspired by a composition task I was given at school, where we had to write a piece of music inspired by a painting. I chose a different painting by Caspar David Friedrich, which inspired me to look up some more of his art to use for this competition.
So, the challenge is fairly simple: Write a piece of music inspired by this painting, "The Watzmann". I look forward to seeing what you can come up with.
A few quick rules/details:
1) You may use any ensemble of instruments.
2) The piece must be between 1.30 and 5 minutes long.
3) The piece must be original, not an arrangement.
You will be given a mark out of 10 for your piece, along with some feedback. You have until Sunday 19th May which gives you one month to complete the piece. I will announce the winners as soon as possible after that.
Admin / Judge
So, basically, if anyone would like to be an admin and judge in the competition, please message me. Your job will be to help me mark the scores, and make sure the group runs smoothly. Obviously, you won't be able to participate in any competitions which you help judge, so sorry about that. If no-one wants to, I can do it myself, but it would make things a lot easier for me, so message if you're willing to help. Thanks!
There. I apologise again for the long post. I'd never get away with this on RSA. :/
Thanks again to everyone who helped boost this group to 30 members yesterday. :D
I look forward to seeing all of your entries to the competition. Obviously you don't have to, but if you are entering, it would be helpful if you could just let me know in the comments. Have fun!
So a couple of people have asked for an extension for the first competition, and as we've only had a few of entries, I've decided to give you 1 week to complete your compositions. The one's we've had so far have been excellent, so keep 'em coming!
You now have until Saturday 25th May to complete your compositions. This is an extra 6 days, so be grateful. ;D
I will announce the winners on either Saturday on Sunday, depending on how long it takes me to mark them all. Well done to everyone who's entered so far!
Scores crash page within 10 seconds but only on mobile, works fine on desktop. Similar scores work perfectly.
These are the most recent of a series of pep band music, the 8th and 9th respectively. Every single one has worked until these two, which reload the page automatically within 10 seconds. It tries to load it again before giving up. The playback works correctly until the page reloads. This only happens on mobile, but on my desktop there are no problems. Is there any reason why this may be happening? There’s nothing setting these apart from the other arrangements and I’ve tried polishing up the files and reuploading. Any help would be appreciated.

I wrote a piece a while back where I was experimenting with changing the meter back and forth (4/4 to 3/4, nothing too crazy). I rather like the result, but I was hoping to get some feedback on the piece, either on the meter or just in general.
I've written a short piano piece a while back where I was messing around with shifting meter. If you have any thoughts or feedback for me, I'd love to hear it!
Hello! I am Mark Catahan and I arranged a piece from Francisco Tarrega which was Gran Vals. It is originally a guitar piece but I transcribed and arranged it for a string quartet. With my arrangement, something is bugging me about how I arranged it and I do not know what it is. So I kinda need some help on figuring out what needs to improve in the arrangement. Thanks!

Recently there have been numerous complaints about score descriptions designed to make the score show up no matter what you search.
There should be a way to mark such scores as spam like we can do with comments.
This is the song which i need sheet music, can you please provide me the original sheet music:
I was laden down with sin,
Full of wickedness within,
In the darkness of despair, regret and loss;
When I heard a gentle voice
And it made my heart rejoice:
“Come find rest, thy heavy laden, at the cross.”
At the cross, at the cross,
There my sins were all forgiven at the cross
There my burdens rolled away
There my night was turned to day
There I met my blessed Saviour at
