Hello - can someone help -
I often copy bits from, what were, downloaded midi files into my scores. Even when I have tried to avoid copying dynamics with the selection filter there are persistent changes in played back dynamics in the copied section that I can't get rid of??
A Musescore Fan
my name is Gianni (Italy) and I write music as amateur. I have long looked for a program LIKE MuseScore, but I didn't imagine that could be complete AS MuseScore. With MS 1.3 I have started to write down some of my songs, but I needed to have notes and tab on the same sheet.
Thomas Bonte suggested me to download the 2.0.2 version. I download it regularly, but it does not open: when I do double click, nothing happens.
Anyone knows about problems with Vista Professional (my operating system)?
Thank you very much. Gianni
Guys, please beware that one of your members named "Arc Trooper" steals transcriptions without credit to the transcriber and only to the original composer, I was the first one to transcribe the song
"Heart of Courage" by Thomas Bergersen and Nick Phoenix.
[Originally Transcribed By:] https://musescore.com/user/183212/scores/2301976
Then he took this score and added some parts that is'nt and Should NOT
be in the score.
He removed valuable information that the orchestra must know of before even practicing the piece itself.

I always use the same instruments in all my original pieces and I was wondering if there was a way to make a custom template and save it for future use?Add your thoughts
Hello Musescore community,
I don't know how to convert something from musescore into an mp3 file so could someone do it for me? I'm looking for a realistic soundfont because I wrote this for my english projects. If anyone could do me this favor, please put the link to the download in this discussion, or email me at email@example.com. Thank you very much. The link to my piece is below.
Trying to add a note without replacing the existing one? thus moving the whole piece one beat forward?
I'm new to musescore, and I'm having a little bit of trouble!
You know how if you are using a text software, if you have "tab" activated, typing deletes the following letter and replaces it with whatever you're typing?
I was putting notes in, and I forgot one, my question is if there is any way for me to add it in the way one would if tab was not activated? As in, adding a note and moving the whole thing forward?
Super appreciative of any help! Thanks!
How will this work?
In the first round all members who wish to compete in the Olympics must enter. If you do not wish to be a part but still want to play a part, you can be one of the co-judges. A winner and second place are chosen. The winner gets an automatic pass to the final round, and second place gets a pass for two rounds.
In the next round all members but first and second enter. The first and second place are chosen and get the same passes listed above.
This process will continue until 8 rounds have passed. In the ninth and final round, all of the first place winners and two second place winners at random will be put up against one another to decide the COMPOSITION OLYMPICS CHAMPION!
All members that wish to participate in round 1 must participate.
Must have COMPOSITION OLYMPICS ROUND _ in the title

Hi, I'm new to using this or any other type of scoring/chart application, but not to writing music. It's just been some years and I need a "Jump Start" in getting back into writing for horns, especially saxophones, trumpet, and "Bone". I have been tasked to bring together high school alumni band members (after 40yrs) to play some funk band numbers at our annual reunion in July. I really need help in preparing these guys who asked me to write the parts for them in that they were afraid that they would not be able to memorize their parts.
So, the following songs are:
1. "Holy Ghost" by the BarKays
2. "Fun, Fun, Fun" by Con Funk Shun
3. "Free" by Deniece Williams
4. "Jamaica Funk" by Tom Browne/Tony Smith
5. "Early In The Morning" by The Gap Band
6. "Uptown Funk" by Mark Ronson (Bruno Mars)
If there are parts available or if someone would be willing to assist, I'd be willing to pay for your service in that my time is full with gigs and other obligations. If interested in helping either way, getting me started in the right direction or writing the charts, please contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
I cannot find any information on the creation of reference points for positioning text.
I have staff text at the top of the page and visually positioned off-center on purpose.
When I go into the text properties I want to set the alignment to be centered horizontally. However, when this is done, the text moved very far out to the left of center of the page.
Reading about text alignment, it says that the text will be positioned according to the
reference point set.
I cannot find out how this reference point is set or how to change it.
If anyone wants to have fun while improving their composing skills, please join Contest Group. Our first two contests have started. One is to write a harp concerto in C flat, I say C flat because harps are most resonant here, and to write a song for orchestra in a rare key.Add your thoughts
I highly recommend that those of you who haven't join this group do so: https://musescore.com/groups/letsreach2000members/sheetmusic
~That Saxophone Guy
I have a midi file that after importing, it is shown with
The chart is built as 2 staffs. I choose to change the staff properties, setting it to
In the Properties window,
Before and after changing the instrument from Piano to Drumset
Part name is shows as Piano, Drum02
I click Apply and the notes change appropriately to what looks like drum notation
How do I combine the 2 piano staff into a one percussion staff?
Do I need to change the imported mid file and it's sound property from Grand Piano to percussion? If so, how do I do this?
This bass player wants to create a bass staff where the 'font' size is larger than the treble staff. I still want both, to circulate lyrics and tune to my fellow players. Any ideas, please?
My first post, I could not see how to search the forums.
I want to add an instrument definition for a Chapman Stick. These come in many flavors, mine is a ten string instrument tuned as outlined here: http://www.stick.com/instruments/tunings/10/raised/
I've googled a lot and haven't found any prior art on this, nor can I find descriptions of the StringData elements in the xml.
I'd be happy for starters to add the stick as two instruments, one for treble clef featuring the melody strings on the instrument, and one for bass clef featuring the bass strings, though in general it's probably better to think of these instruments as scored like a piano.
Any pointers of any kind appreciated. I'm not familiar at all yet with musescore.com groups and the search tools seem to be missing except for the "search for sheet music" option.
