I use Linux and managed to finally connect MuseScore with VMPK. But now I can't use key shortcuts! Neither can I select measures using Shift, delete with Backspace and so and so...
I hope this is the correct place to be posting this question. I am wondering if there is a way to copy a portion of a score, where meter changes, etc are also preserved. I can copy a string of notes, chords, lyrics just fine, but if there's a pickup measure, or meter changes, I have to add all that stuff manually if I am to copy a portion containing those things.
today I tried several times to transfer a song on youtube but without success. I have disabled any type of block possible but nothing. I click on "send ...." but the screen becomes white and nothing is transmitted. I observed that, loading an mp3 audio, after clicking on disconnect and then on connenct, I was shown C: fakepath .... (something like that). What could be the problem?
The connection with youtube does not work in any way. Followed to fix a blank page on the screen and in no way are redirected. Nor do you upload any movie. It stops with the https: /musescore.com/score/manage/youtube/send-process? Score_id = ... link in the address bar. As I said, I have not activated any protection. However, it does not proceed with Firefox, neither with Explorer nor with Chrome. Every activity on the internet works correctly, including the youtube account. There has not even been any change to my pc.
How do I handle it?
Thanks a lot See you soon.
P.S. I hope that the English translation is understandable.
I'm trying to tranform a song I want my pupils to learn into a score. But for the life of me, I just seem unable to find a way to insert a second instrument (which will be a voice) under my previous instrument.
I tried to find some instructions in the handbook (which I just buy) but I'm unable to find something useful.
If someone coud point me towards the right menu or key, that would be great !
Thank you in advance
I'm trying to digitise a hymn by entering the music into MuseScore, but I've come unstuck with this type of hovering note (I don't know it's proper name!):
The note circled in red on the left is what I'm trying to add, the notes on the right is what I've already entered.
I'm sure it's just a case of pressing another button before adding the extra notes, but I've not managed to find that button yet, despite lots of fiddling!
Many thanks for your help :-)
Like in some choir scores, the accompaniment goes first (eg. piano), and the choir dont sing. Can I make the SATB hidden and take up no room in the score within the bars? Ive looked up several scores in the community, and they all leave the instruments resting there without hiding it.
Hi, I'm Marc Sabatella, Director of Education for MuseScore. I would like to invite you to check out the new resource I have developed to teach you to use MuseScore most effectively. It is called Mastering MuseScore: Complete Online Course, and it covers everything from the basics to the most advanced features, with over one hundred individual lessons containing more than nine hours of video in all. It is quite simply the most clear and thorough training of its kind!
You can find more information here:
I'm trying to connect my Yamaha P-115 keyboard to my MacBook Pro so that I can use MuseScore to notate music I perform on the keyboard. I have the appropriate MIDI cable, but I have not been able to get MuseScore to receive/respond to any MIDI input. Would welcome help!
What are the implications of choosing an instrument? I have half a dozen "main" instruments and another dozen "secondary" instruments, so after choosing piano just to see what would happen next, there doesn't appear to be a way to change that selection. So just wondering what the implications are and if everything here is geared to choosing a main instrument or not as I have several that I consider main.
I am currently running successfully Musescore 2.3.2 on my Windows 8.1 Professional 32-bit computer.
I downloaded and extracted to the same directory:
Double clicking the Musescore.exe file delivers the message that "This app. can't run on your PC".
I have right clicked the file and clicked the "Run in compatibility mode for Windows 8".
This delivers the same error message as above, so I am obviously doing something wrong - can anyone advise, please?
I have a question regarding the descriptions for uploaded sheet music on this site. Are there any standards relating to how detailed the descriptions can/should be? Most of the sheets that I have seen only have a very brief description consisting of maybe a couple of sentences, and perhaps a changelog in some cases. I am a particularly wordy individual and I tend to make huge walls of text when writing about something I want to talk about, so I'm concerned that I would end up saying too much.
Basically, I want to point out certain facts about the transcription I plan to upload (for a song featured in an anime), such as the sources used, comparisons with other existing arrangements, and a variety of miscellaneous details that point out specific parts and measures. I already have what I intend to post as the description saved as a text file on my computer pending release, but I am well aware that it is way too much info for most people to care, since it amounts to several paragraphs of wordswordswords that no one will even bother to read unless they are really invested in the topic. And while I fully understand that "brevity is [...] wit", I find it difficult to tl;dr myself.
Perhaps I could post my massive text wall on Pastebin and link to it in the description instead? Or should I just try to force myself to "keep it simple stupid" and only maintain the bare minimum of text without even bothering with Pastebin? Is there some other suitable way for me to provide these details? As bizarre as it is, are there any other composers/arrangers out there who have the same wordiness problem that I have?
Hello, I am administrator of the KHM account.
In this account I add al scores available for the KHM Men choir.
But these scores are restricted for usage of choir members only, so I saved them as a private score.
Now I created a group and added the scores to that group.
Settings for the group are "Private group" and
Moderation on Invite only.
Now I send some invitations to other Choir members.
But if they accept the link the get "Sorry Page not found"
How to solve this.
Where do I think wrong. Is it not possible to give people acces to a private group?
Is there another way to make copyrighted scores only visible to certain people?
I am trying to enter quarter note triplets into a score and even though I change the note to a quarter note and then go to "Notes" "Tuplets" and click on it, it always changes it to eighth notes and then puts a quarter note rest in the measure that I cannot delete. Any suggestions?
I have a piano score with the notes starting in the top stave and running downward... the notes should at some point move from the top stave to the bottom, but musescore is assigning them all to just the top stave... consequently, I'm getting a million ledger lines between the top and bottom staves...
Is there some way to designate a "splitting point" between the staves, so the notes arent being assigned to the wrong hand?
Help! I've just imported a midi file and one of the parts (piano) is muted in playback and I can't figure out why. I've looked at the mixer - that's fine. Clicking on the individual notes renders them perfectly ok, there's simply nothing in playback. All the other parts are fine. I've even tried copy/paste the individual line into a fresh blank score and it remains muted; but then adding new notes to that line, no problems - so it doesn't sound like it's a global setting on instrument line. My only thought it could be velocity of the notes is set to zero? Is that a thing in Musescore??
I'm trying to digitalize an old piece of sheet music of a song which has pretty much disappeared- can't find any recordings of it anywhere, and it's so old it's out of copyright. I'm totally new to MuseScore and cannot figure out for the life of me, no matter how much I google it, how to make something like this:
I'm completely stuck, so if you could give me simple instructions, I'd be very grateful! Thank you!
When I am starting a new score in MuseScore on Windows is there a way to get to Treble Clef in this dialog box using the keyboard alone? I would expect tab to work but that jumps between score groupings.
I'm trying to write something in 7/8 time, with grouping of 2, 2, and 3.
It will only allow me to do 3, 2, 2.
In the past I've successfully used beam properties from the master palette, but now it doesn't seem to be working. Can anyone suggest something?
