"New" Group -- Genesis Games Music Team

Hello everyone,

It seems I'm now advertising another new group. (Well, technically, the group I'm about to advertise isn't "new," but nobody besides me has joined it yet at the time of this writing.) The Musescorer Enochulous has made a group called "Genesis Games Music Team" (link here: https://musescore.com/groups/1892176) and is looking for composers and/or other music department members to help him create and share music for some games he is planning on making. (As far as I can tell, right now he's working on one called ZeroBlade Run.) If you're interested in composing for a video game, I recommend you check it out.

Thanks for taking the time to read this,
Oenanthic

We Need some New Admins

By the looks of it, this group has gone mostly dark besides the music posted to it. We had the idea of doing contests, but that went down the drain fast because of other obligations. Music that isn't from video games has been slipping through the gaps all too often, so we need some moderation there. The last discussion posted to this group was over 2 months ago, and it received no comments, not even a single one, and we need some people keeping more than just the music alive. Overall, we just don't have the manpower to run the group at all, so we need more people to help us do just that. Post your nominations here and I'll try to get a vote up when we have at least 5 nominees.
Thank you for your support.

I'd like to work on a project...

As most of those who follow me know, I've been very inactive for the past while, and I said it was because of school. That was a lie c:
What's actually been going on is me preparing for a very large project I'd like to start on soon: Remaking Undertale in its entirety all in Minecraft. Sadly, I have no money to hire a team to do it professionally, so that's why I came here. I don't care who you are! If you think you can offer something, comment here. Below is a list of things we need.
--------------------
A Build Team
Remastered Music and Sound
Textures
Command Block Expertise
Publicity
Story Writers (we might make an extra section to the game)
--------------------
That should be about it. I'll add comments for anything I might have missed! Comment on this thread if you're interested in helping out!

Help Needed!

I am trying to finalize my score that I am working on, however, I have no idea how to add in the part numbers at on the staves. In case you have no idea what I am talking about, they are the numbers that tell the conductor what parts are playing in each split staff.

Metro Challenge!

This is a few days late, but that's largely due to the fact that I've just completely been busy with schoolwork and other things of that nature. Anyway, this is pretty much the same as last time, but the theme is different: Retro games! This includes any games from before the year 2000, which includes the original Super Mario Bros., Sonic the Hedgehog, etc. Good luck!

Febrolery Challenge!

It's February, and we've got a new challenge for you! All you have to do is pick one or more RPGs (Fallout, Final Fantasy, The Legend of Zelda, Xenoblade Chronicles, etc.) and make an arrangement or mashup from the game(s) you chose. Also, the point system has been revamped from last time, and hopefully more than one person enters so this can be useful :3

Here are the voting criteria...

Complexity (This includes but is not limited to: length, style(s) used, and number of instruments)

Creativity/Accuracy (You choose, depending on what you were going for with your piece)

Community Voting (How the MuseScore community responds to your piece. This includes comments, favorites, views, and favorites voting from the end of the contest, the first three being adjusted for the number of followers you have, and the groups you've put your song into.)

You can get a total of 40 points for each, giving a maximum of 120 points, and the person with the highest number of points wins. If there is a tie, there will be a tiebreaker overlapping into the next month's challenge, kinda going in the background, and if the tiebreaker ends in a tie, all who tied will win 1st place.

Anyway, that wraps up the introduction for this challenge, and I wish you all luck!

Massive Collab!

Just a short while ago, I posted a "Get ready" post for a large-scale collab piece. Currently, this will be the main discussion where we talk about said collab and decide what kind of piece we're going for. Personally, I'd like a mash-up where everyone adds their own song as we go along, but I'd like to hear what everyone else thinks about it!

Our 2016 Video Game Musics Calendar

We will be doing contests every month for arrangements for the month's theme! Please see the monthly discussions for these challenges! Currently, we have all the genres we can think of on this list, and some pretty reasonable names. If you have anything you'd like to submit, simply post a comment on this discussion. Note that everything in the rounded brackets is the genre that's going to be featured in its respective month, while everything in the "squiggly brackets" is an example of it's respective genre. [EDIT BY DOC] Also, we could use any ideas any of you might have for better names for these months. As you can see, us admins aren't perfect XD
--------------------------------------------------------
Jumpuary (Platformers) {Super Mario Bros. Series}
Febrolery (RPG) {Fallout or Final Fantasy}
Metro (Retro) {Original The Legend of Zelda Games}

Mash-Up Challenge

Hello Video Game Musics members,
To get everybody ready for the admins' special surprise for next year, I thought we should get everyone hyped up by having one last challenge this year! For this challenge you must mix up songs from two or more franchises into one epic pieces. I am also allowing Holiday Music to be mixed up with franchises. You are allowed to do a collaboration piece or get permission to use other arrangements in your piece as long as you don't just copy and paste several arrangements and call it your own. (Think... Different instrumentation and your own transitions will work well) The deadline is January 24th. You can enter as many times as you want. Everyone will be allowed to vote from January 26th through February 5th. We will be voting on transitions, originality, and best overall. Post your link for voting in the comments . If you have questions, also put them in the comments. Go grab a spatula and a keyboard and mash up some stuff!!!

I'm at a little bit of a loss as to what to do now...

Okay, so if you've been following my recent posts, then you'll know I recently posted a Mash-Up of the Skyrim theme, Carol of the Bells, and Heartache from Undertale. Even MORE recently, I posted a remix of the song "Megalovania" from Undertale, which has received FAR more views, and a lot better feedback than the Mash-Up in quite a bit less time. I'm here to ask anyone who reads this which one I should work on finishing first.

HOLY CRAP IT'S FREAKIN' MAGIC :D

I went to open MuseScore just a few minutes ago to continue work on an arrangement I'm in the middle of, but I missed and clicked the Mixcraft icon by accident. Next thing I see is a screen saying the following.

"We're sorry for any inconveniences we may have caused you, Teh. We mistakenly reclaimed our product thinking that you had pirated it. To say we're sorry, we've not only re-registered your software, we've also upgraded it to Pro so that you can make better even more music than before!"

HOLY SHET THIS IS THE BEST DAY EVAR. c:
(Please note that this does not mean I'm not going to use Sibelius, It just means that for the time being, there will be SoundCloud posts once again )

This might be fun...

So, as I mentioned a while ago, I'm working on a new MuseScore song. I'll give you three hints: It's an arrangement, it's from a game that released in June of 2014, and it's called "Knight of the Living Dead." That's all I'm going to give you (unless I'm feeling generous sometime in the future). If anyone can figure this out, I will do two requested arrangements for them (can literally be any song, and it doesn't have to be from a video game).
