It’s been a huge year for Oasis, and it’s getting even better. The English rock band is in the midst of a worldwide reunion that many fans thought would never happen, and now they’re releasing new tracks.

The band is celebrating the 30th anniversary of their breakthrough album “(What’s the Story) Morning Glory?” with a deluxe edition that will feature remastered versions of the 12-song collection. Along with a refresh of the original music, Oasis will include a second disc containing five unplugged recordings produced and mixed by Noel Gallagher and Callum Marinho from the original masters.

“(What’s the Story) Morning Glory?” produced smash hits including “Wonderwall,” “Champagne Supernova,” “Don’t Look Back in Anger,” and “Morning Glory,” many of which have become must-learn songs on the guitar. The unplugged songs are fan favorites “Cast No Shadow”, “Morning Glory”, “Wonderwall”, “Acquiesce”, and “Champagne Supernova.”

These unplugged songs are a perfect foil to the versions we’ve all been listening to for the last three decades. “Morning Glory,” for instance, presents a fresh arrangement that contrasts with the original’s jangling atmosphere, which begins with the sounds of a helicopter before a bright, distorted guitar tone brings in the main riff.

The new unplugged replaces the cacophony with a driving acoustic guitar, a tambourine on the backbeat, and some hand drums. After the first chorus, a piano enters for a musical interlude to replace the guitar solo.

The scaled-back “Morning Glory” helps to bring out the depth of the chord progression while simultaneously putting extra emphasis on Liam Gallagher’s vocals. Oasis songwriter Noel Gallagher admits that some of the lyrics don’t make much sense, but that’s not the point.

“I like the lyrics to ‘Morning Glory,'” he told MOJO Magazine. “‘Tomorrow never knows what it doesn’t know too soon’ – what the [expletive] does that mean? Well, I don’t know. I only wrote it. But those lyrics, they were tied up in the times, and everything around that time was vital. All the lyrics to Morning Glory were just in the air. I’d have the first line of every verse, and the chorus I’d have. All the lyrics to that were written when I was 22, 23.”

The 30th anniversary edition of “(What’s the Story) Morning Glory?” Releases October 3rd, 2025 – exactly 30 years and one day after it was first set loose onto the world. It will be available in a variety of formats.

“The deluxe album features new artwork shot by original sleeve designer Brian Cannon and new sleeve notes,” the band’s website explains. “Exclusive coloured vinyl formats will be available, including indie record store exclusive ‘Cast No Shadow’ inspired Crystal Clear 3LP, HMV ‘Morning Glory’ inspired blue marble 3LP, Amazon Exclusive ‘Wonderwall’ inspired sepia marble 3LP, and official store exclusive ‘Acquiesce’ inspired neon orange 3LP. All formats will include the 2014 remastered version of the album alongside the new bonus versions.”
