The soundtrack to Netflix’s animated film “K-Pop Demon Hunters” has been dominating the charts ever since its release on June 20th. In fact, the hit “Golden” performed by the fictional band HUNTR/X has just hit its fifth nonconsecutive week at No. 1 on the Billboard Global 200. It’s a testament to the power of K-Pop, but also the song’s composition.
Rain Paris has proven that it goes beyond pop with an inspired rock cover, which also quickly became the Canadian singer’s most viewed YouTube video.
Her version trades in the dreamy synthesizers for drop-tuned guitars and distortion. The vocal delivery has an extra edge to it, too, with Paris still nailing the high notes in the chorus.
