Hi All, This week I focus on romantic composer Giuseppe Verdi.A famous romantic opera composer, known for things like La donna e mobile, Vedi! Le fosche notturne spoglie, and Libiamo ne' lieti calici. But today I will focus on another genre of his rather than opera. I'll be sharing his Requiem. One of the best requiems ever composed. With a very very powerful Dies irae. Link to the performance:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1PdcmFvZvuI&t=73shope you all enjoy :)

"Mad Max: Fury Road" Suite: 3. Dies Irae

Here's a short suite from one of the best action films in recent memory. The first movement ("Many Mothers") is a solemn chorale that sets up the action scenes. "Brothers in Arms" is basically one long, driving crescendo to the finish line. While the double stops are accessible and resonant enough in this key, the piece would probably sound better divisi, in a string orchestra setting. Finally, Verdi's operatic "Dies Irae" from his Requiem accompanies the amazing central chase scene (and can also be heard in the trailer). Make sure you check out all movements. Enjoy!

Four short pieces suitable for situations in marching or Pep bands when you can't fit a full tune, Pieces include Latin Flair, an arrangement of Latin bull fighting influence, Sugarhill Gang's Apache (Jump on it) an original work by the arranger Brandon Batten, Band Jam, and Verdi's Dies Irae Requiem.

The Lacrimosa is part of the Dies Irae sequence in the Roman Catholic Requiem Mass. Its text comes from the Latin 18th and 19th stanzas of the sequence. Many composers, including Mozart, Berlioz, and Verdi have set the text as a discrete movement of the Requiem.
