Tuba mirum spargens sonum
Liber scriptus proferetur, in quo totum continetur, unde mundus judicetur.

over graven regionen,
waarin alles staat genoteerd,
niets zal ongewroken blijven.

Litt. English/Latin:
The trumpet (tuba) spreading (spargens) its won'drous sound (mirum sonum)
over (per) graves (sepulcra) regions (regionum),
calls (coget) all (omnes) before (ante) the throne (thronum).
Death (mors) and nature (et natura) will be astounded (stupebit),
when the (with=cum) creature (creatura) will rise again (resurget),
to be hold accountable (responsura) for the Judge (judicanti).
A written book (liber scriptus) will be brought forth (proferetur),
in which (in quo) all (totum) is written (litt: in which all contains; continetur),
by which (unde) the world (mundis) will be judged (judicetur).
When (ergo cum; so with) the Judge (Judex) takes his place (sedebit),
what (quidquid) is hidden (latet) will be revealed (apparebit; will appear),
nothing (nil) will remain (remanebit) unavenged (unultum).
What (Quid sum; what at all) then (tunc) shall a wretch (miser) (like me) then say (dicturus; futurum; shall say)?
On which (quem) intercessor (patronum) will be called upon (rogaturus),
when (cum) even the righteous (man) (justus) will hardly (vix) be safe (sit securus)?

This is an old rhyme version:
The mighty trumpet's wondrous tone
shall rend each tomb's sepulchral stone
and summon all before the Throne.
Now death and nature with surprise
behold the trembling sinners rise
to meet the Judge's searching eyes.
Then shall with universal dread
the Book of Consciences be read
to judge the lives of all the dead.
For now before the Judge severe
all hidden things must plain appear;
no crime can pass unpunished here.
O what shall I, so guilty plead?
and who for me will intercede?
when even Saints shall comfort need?
